W elcome to Small World Preschool and Nursery

Our centre is based on the belief that it is our job to cultivate children's natural interest and enthusiasm for learning. 

The centre is licensed for providing all-day childcare for 28 children, including 5 under twos.

Our Philosophy

Educators at Small World Preschool and Nursery will notice recognise and respond to children’s interests, knowledge and development.

We see children as capable and competent and will provide a caring, challenging environment where children enjoy playing and learning.

The child’s learning journey will be in partnership with parent/whanau.

Small World Preschool and Nursery is a home away from home to children where they feel safe, warm and comfortable. We aim to keep the routines for children compatible with that of their home environment while valuing the child’s voice and growing independence in a group situation.

We believe it is important that children gain a positive awareness of their own and other cultures by celebrating cultural diversity. We encourage family/whanau and community participation in the centre life.

At Small World educators are trained and will be respected as individuals and valued team members.

Management will provide opportunities that allow educators to keep themselves up to date with relevant early childhood research and theory to ensure current and wise practice.
